Why Sunrise Sessions Are Worth Getting Up For (I’ll Bring the Coffee!)

Okay, I know what you’re thinking: “You want me to wake up HOW early?”

Listen, I’m not naturally a morning person either. But after years of capturing couples in all kinds of light, I can honestly say that sunrise sessions are pure magic. And yes, I promise to bring coffee (the good kind, not that gas station stuff).

Here’s why sunrise sessions are literally worth losing sleep over:

The Light is Unreal

  • Golden hour isn’t just at sunset
  • Morning light has this crisp, clean quality that’s chef’s kiss
  • No harsh shadows or squinting
  • That morning glow makes everyone look amazing (even pre-coffee!)

You Get the Mountains to Yourself

  • No photobombers in the background
  • No waiting for crowds to clear
  • Just you, your person, and the mountains
  • Perfect for introverts and extroverts alike

The Adventure Factor

  • Watching the sun paint the sky together
  • Sharing a thermos of coffee at the summit
  • Having a story that starts with “that time we woke up at 4am…”
  • Getting epic photos AND a morning adventure

The Practical Perks

  • Your hair and makeup are fresh
  • It’s usually less windy in the morning
  • More flexible timeline for the rest of your day
  • Perfect excuse for a post-session brunch date

But Real Talk Yes, getting up early is hard. Yes, you might question your life choices when that alarm goes off. But I’ve never, ever had a couple regret choosing sunrise. There’s something really special about starting your day watching the sun come up with your favorite person (and your friendly third wheel photographer).

Plus, you know what makes for great photos? The slight delirium of being up way too early, sharing coffee and blankets, and watching the world wake up together. Trust me – some of my favorite shots have happened when couples are still a little sleepy and extra cuddly.

Want to see some sunrise magic? Send me a DM! I’ll show you some before-coffee vs. after-coffee shots that’ll make you a sunrise believer.

P.S. Seriously though, I bring really good coffee. And snacks. I’ve got you covered!
