“But We’re So Awkward in Photos!” (Spoiler: No, You’re Not)

Can we have a honest moment? Like, really honest?

Every. Single. Couple. I’ve ever photographed has started with “We’re so awkward in photos!” And you know what? By the end of our session, they’re always shocked by how natural and fun it felt.

Let me spill some tea about what REALLY happens during my sessions:

The First 15 Minutes Yes, it might feel a little weird. You’re with a stranger with a camera! That’s normal! But here’s what we’ll actually be doing:

  • Talking about that crazy thing your dog did this morning
  • Sharing embarrassing first date stories
  • Walking and exploring (no stiff poses, promise!)
  • Probably laughing about how “awkward” you think you are

The Magic Moment There’s always this moment – usually about 15-20 minutes in – where couples completely forget about the camera. Suddenly you’re just:

  • Telling inside jokes
  • Getting distracted by how cute your partner is
  • Actually enjoying yourself (shocking, I know!)
  • Creating genuine moments worth capturing

My Not-So-Secret Secrets Here’s how I help make magic happen:

  • Zero stiff poses or “say cheese” moments
  • Lots of movement and natural interaction
  • Games and prompts that bring out your real personality
  • Dad jokes (they’re so bad they’re good, trust me)

The Real Truth You’re not awkward – you’re in love. And love is goofy and weird and beautiful and perfect. Those little moments that make you unique as a couple? That’s what I’m here to capture.

Your photos shouldn’t look like anyone else’s because your love story isn’t like anyone else’s. So let’s forget about being “good at photos” and focus on being good at being you.

Want to see what I mean? Drop me a message and I’ll share some behind-the-scenes stories from couples who were “totally awkward” and ended up with photos they absolutely love.
